Welcome to The Business Beat.

New Design and Media Company

Clint Clarke is a top-notch graphic designer. Formerly with Point of View, he recently launched his own company, Incite Design and Media. Clint promises to inform, innovate and inspire with his web sites, marketing materials, and signage systems. Clint calls design "the new competitive weapon", and I think he makes a good point. So whether it's design, brand consulting or new media, you can gain incite by calling Clint Clarke at Incite Design & Media. Call 705-749-9128, email clint.clarke@sympatico.ca or check the website at www.incitedesign.ca.

Local Real Estate Firms Merge

Big moves in the Real Estate business, with the recent merger of Royal Lepage Frank Real Estate and Sutton Group All Pro Realty. The two companies are now operating under one name, Royal Lepage Frank, and under one roof, at 244 Aylmer Street, at the corner of Aylmer and Sherbrooke. Manager Bruce Switzer says the result is a company more than double in size and market share. They've occupied the entire building at 244 Aylmer, which was purchased from Bob McGillen and Bill Hill by Royal Lepage owner Rick Siwek. For more information call 705-748-4056.

New Commercial Building and Condos in West End

There's lots going on at the corner of Sherbrooke and Denure, just east of Brealey, in Peterborough's West End. Sherbrooke Heights Plaza, a new 16,500 square foot neighbourhood plaza currently being constructed will feature a Mac's Convenience Store, five commercial units, a two-storey office/clinic facility and on-site parking. If you are looking for a place to open a professional office, a hair salon, a video store, or a wide range of other uses, just call leasing agent Dave Smith at DNS Real Estate at 705-749-1602. Erik Wilke was the architect for this project, and Mark V. Wilson the builder/contractor.

Kilmullen CondosMeanwhile, across the street you'll find Kilmullen Condominiums, a 70 unit complex being built by an Irish developer. More information is available by contacting Frank Dorris at Remax Real Estate at 743-9111, or online at www.kilmullen.com. Lett Smith is the architect.
