It’s a head-shaving world record!

Pedal For Hope Peterborough achieves Guinness World Record in support of the Canadian Cancer Society

On Saturday, May 16, 2015, 267 participants had their heads shaved simultaneously at the Peterborough Airport for Pedal For Hope Peterborough — achieving the Guinness World Record in head shaving.

The achievement breaks the previous record of 210 people in Ohio.

Amanda Mochan, adjudicator with Guinness World Records in New York City, attended the world record attempt and certified the achievement.

The Pedal For Hope team wrapped up its 2015 tour by riding into the Loomex Building at the Peterborough Airport on Saturday at noon, where they joined members of the community in the world record attempt.

The head-shaving event was in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Money raised from the event will help fund leading-edge cancer research, information, advocacy, and community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families.
