16-year-old bagpiper Brodick Ewing, also known as The Port Hope Piper, is gearing up for competition season with the Durham Police Pipes and Drums. This summer, with the help of his family, he will be going to competitions across Ontario playing his current favourite tune "Sweet Maid of Glendaruel" in solo competitions and competing with his band. The Town of Cobourg makes an appearance in the 2021 pilot episode of the Netflix series "Ginny & Georgia". The production crew for the series will be returning to Cobourg from May 14 to 16, 2024 to shoot the third season, with filming taking place on May 16 at The El, William Academy, Victoria Park, Victoria Hall, and downtown roads.
