For the past six years, local filmmakers Rob Viscardis and Jeremy Blair Kelly have been working on a documentary of the popular Peterborough band The Weber Brothers — and they’ve now launching a crowd-funding campaign to finish the film.

Before We Arrive: The Story of The Weber Brothers is a culmination of events, performances, and interviews that have been collected over the past 15 years of The Weber Brothers’ career.

According to the filmmakers, the documentary not only serves as a biography of the band, but provides an in-depth look at the determination and endurance necessary for artists to survive while pursuing their passion.

For The Weber Brothers, what matters most is not fame, fortune, or mainstream success — it’s simply about making music.

“It’s more than a biography on an amazing band with a cool story,” says producer, director and editor Vicardis. “It’s a very inspirational story that anyone can relate to.”

Viscardis and Kelly (who is also producing the film and is director of photography) have been working on the documentary for the past six years and expect to release the film in the fall of 2015.

While production of the documentary is almost complete, the two filmmakers are seeking to raise funds for post-production work that will bring the film to fruition.

“With the fundraising efforts, we can pay for items such as film festival entries and post sound production,” says Kelly.

Viscardis and Kelly launched their crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo on Wednesday, April 15th, 2015. The campaign will have a $10,000 goal, is set to last 45 days, and will offer perks to contributors.

“We’re excited to share this film and to get people involved,” Viscardis says.

Viscardis is a filmmaker, photographer, musician, and writer. He’s worked as a creative professional for over 10 years.

In addition to his recent work as a film editor in documentary, dramatic feature film, television series and music videos, Viscardis has been working with a film studio as an operations manager.

His co-producer Kelly is an award-winning freelance filmmaker who has worked on a variety of small and large scale projects, including dramatic feature film, documentary, television series, music video, web series, and commercial work for internationally regarded clients.

Viscardis and Kelly have previously worked together on many other projects including a feature documentary and a television series, as well as many other small productions.
